Top Messines Activities to Try

Messines, or to give it its full name São Bartolomeu de Messines, is set in a valley and the surrounding countryside is quite different from the Algarve coastal areas or the hills of Monchique and is well worth exploring to get a flavour of the 'barrocal' (the area between the hills and the coast).

Nearby are the dams (Barragens) of Funcho and Arade where you can enjoy a walk or picnic.

To discover the countryside the best way is a jeep safari or a quad bike adventure along the many tracks that can be found here.
