Top Benagil Activities to Try

Benagil is a lovely small village near the beach located between Carvoeiro and Armação de Pêra. The local economy was centered around fishing up until the second half of the 20th century, after which it focused more on tourism. The nearest other beaches are Praia da Marinha on the east and Praia do Carvalho on the west.

Right near to Praia de Benagil is an impressive cave, known as Algar de Benagil. From inside this cave you will see the blue sky through an opening in the ceiling, also known as the eye, which has made this one of the most recognised caves in the Algarve.

You can visit the caves on a boat tour from the beach, or also on trips departing from most marinas in the Algarve.

For a more unique experience that will also allow you to go to the cave and walk inside it, you should go on kayaking or Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board trip.
